Grachia Margarian

Dear Mr. Margaryan, before moving to our main topic, tell us about your decision to move to Armenia?

I always had desires and intentions to move to Armenia, but the final decision was made after the war in Artsakh in 2020 in order to contribute to the revival of the country.

What projects have you already implemented and what projects are you planning?

At the moment, we have created a platform for supporting and coordinating business in Armenia, in the format of a multifunctional center www.am.business. After some time, a full-fledged platform will be developed, the so-called office of simple solutions, which should form a transparent and efficient environment for entrepreneurs.

In the near future the investment platform www.am.investments will be launched, the purpose of which will be the creation of investment instruments and effective solutions for realizing the investment potential of Armenia.

Also in the process of start is a program of attraction of foreign manufacturers to Armenia and their localization under the Make in Armenia strategy, and a program to create a collective sign , a national brand Made in Armenia.

Among other things, the NATIONAL CENTER Foundation focuses on social projects for the formation of state thinking. The project of installation of a monument dedicated to a woman diplomat Diana Abgar is one of them www.dianaabgar.com

Tell us about the activities of your Foundation?

The Development Fund “NATIONAL CENTER” www.national.center was created to implement socially significant projects, create institutional mechanisms and assist government agencies in the implementation of national tasks. For all this we are creating specific projects and convenient, modern resources, which I spoke about earlier. Also, the Fund helps in the promotion and implementation of promising third-party projects proposed by citizens or organizations.

Why have you decide to initiate the installation of a monument to the diplomat Diana Abgar?

I understand that today efforts need to be put on more practical things, which we are doing in the framework of other projects. But you need to realize that symbolism and the formation of state thinking among our citizens and our future generations are very important. To my surprise, very few people know about Diana Abgar and her contribution to the international recognition of the First Armenian Republic and the formation of the Armenian factor in world politics. In addition, she marks the high image of a civil servant, intellect and human dignity. She was the first female diplomat and ambassador in the 20th century and this fact testifies how dynamic and modern the First Armenian Republic was at that time and had great potential to become an advanced country in the region, if not the loss of sovereignty. Today, in order to strengthen sovereignty and dynamic development of the state, we need to rely on the heritage that we have. It must be restored both in the minds of citizens and in the political strategy of our state. I think the image of Diana Abgar is the best fit for this.
